Canada’s premier collegiate hackathon brought together over 500 of the best student innovators from around
the world — and it’s where the journey of SeeForMe began. In just 24 hours, we built the very first working
prototype of our smart glasses and demonstrated its potential to change the lives of visually impaired individuals.
Our solution stood out for its originality, real-world relevance, and immediate usability. Judges were impressed
not only by the technical execution, but by the mission-driven approach and the clarity of our vision. Winning 1st
place wasn’t just a moment of recognition — it was the validation that what we were building had real potential to
make a difference.
McHacks helped kickstart SeeForMe’s growth, turning an idea into a movement — and giving us the confidence to pursue
this full-time.
The Hult Prize is known as the “Nobel Prize for students” — a global competition that challenges young entrepreneurs to
solve the world’s most pressing social issues through innovative business ideas. Competing against hundreds of teams from
top universities, we were honored to win the regional round with SeeForMe.
Our pitch focused on accessibility, inclusion, and the power of technology to restore autonomy to visually impaired
individuals. The judges recognized the depth of our impact, our strong connection to the user community, and our potential
to scale globally.
Winning this round pushed SeeForMe to the international stage, and gave us access to mentorship, global visibility, and a
growing network of changemakers. It reinforced our belief that combining social impact with cutting-edge technology can
truly change lives.
SeeForMe was selected to join McGill’s prestigious Dobson Validation Lab — a highly competitive program that supports
early-stage startups in transforming bold ideas into viable, impactful businesses.
Over several months, we will be working closely with top-tier mentors, advisors, and experienced entrepreneurs to refine
our product, test our value proposition, and strengthen our business model. The program challenged us to think critically
about user needs, iterate fast, and build a foundation for sustainable growth.
Dobson’s ecosystem is giving us access to expert guidance, customer discovery resources, and the opportunity to validate
SeeForMe with real-world users. It is a defining step in shaping our product strategy and building a mission-driven
company with long-term impact.
